Race DescriptionAdventurous Concepts (AC) will host the tenth edition of the Florida Coast to Coast Adventure Race (FC2C) on Sept. 30th - October 3rd, 2010. The 3-day adventure race will be held in Central Florida where competitors will run, trek, kayak, bike (road and off-road), do rope work, tube, and navigate non-stop up to 72 hours. FC2C will continue as a USARA National Championship Qualifier and will also participate as Checkpoint Tracker Series Event. Your team needs to get across the state locating defined checkpoints within the specified cutoff times. We expect the winning team to traverse the course in 38-42 hours. In addition, FC2C will be held in memory of John Walker, one of the founding members of the Florida Coast to Coast Adventure Race, who passed away recently from Colon Cancer. AC will contribute to the John A. Walker Memorial Foundation Inc. for every team that participates. In recognition of the 10th year edition, there will be: * Reduced registration fees in light of current economic challenges * Additional race disciplines * Real time live-tracking * A relay category * A newly added 'no support crew' option (details TBD) * A Saturday night celebration party in conjunction with the award ceremony If you feel that you would prefer doing this race in relay format, you are in luck. This is a great way to get more teammates to share the experience. You can have up to six team members while any four are racing between transition areas. You want to participate but don't have a support crew or boats? Don't worry, we'll take care of your boat needs and transport your gear from checkpoint to checkpoint. Come on down, over, or up from wherever you are. We will provide more details regarding this option shortly.
